 Smartlipo™ is the first and only laser-assisted lipolysis system to offer a revolutionary and minimally invasive procedure for the removal of fat. Using a high-powered laser, Smartlipo™ is the new liposuction procedure with less downtime and side effects than traditional liposuction.
A very small cannula or tube that measures only 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm in diameter is inserted through the skin into subcutaneous tissue. The cannula that contains the laser fiber is moved back and forth and delvers the laser's energy to the fat cells and the dermis. Subsequently, the fat cells melt or are vaporized and are easily drained away.
The laser energy provides further benefit by interacting with the dermis layer of skin, resulting in collagen tightening, while enhancing the production of new collagen.
